HOUSTON – A man accused of possessing nearly 500 pieces of child pornography, including some depicting sex acts with animals, was expected in court Thursday. His appearance was reset to April 18.
Timothy Gerbode, 29, faces three counts of possession of child pornography.
"We are pleading not guilty. Let me tell you, Mr. Gerbode is a really nice, young man. He's been married for about the last six years. He's been employed throughout his adult life and he enjoys the same presumption of innocence that you and I do. We are pleading not guilty and I will vigorously defend him," defense attorney David Bires said.
According to court documents, the Harris County Sheriff's Office High Tech Crime Unit investigated the source of child pornography images on a file sharing network in August 2016 and traced the IP address to Gerbode's computer.
During a search in September, deputies said they found 476 images that met the definition of child pornography on his computer.
Some of the lewd photos were also of bestiality, court documents state.
Gerbode is out of jail after posting a $60,000 bond. His next scheduled court appearance is April 18.
