Driver injured in crash with work convoy in north Houston

Driver being tested for alcohol


HOUSTON – A driver is recovering after a crash with crews performing road work in north Houston.

It happened around 3 a.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes of the North Freeway near West Road. 

The driver of a GMC pickup truck slammed into the back of a truck in a work convoy, police said. The driver of the GMC pickup truck was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The work crew was not hurt.

A blood sample will be taken to determine if the GMC pickup truck driver was intoxicated at the time.
