Toddler drowns in Brazoria County
HOLIDAY LAKES, Texas – A toddler drowned Wednesday in Brazoria County.
Officials said the child’s mother fell asleep after working a night shift. She awoke about 9 a.m. and could not find the 1-year-old boy.
The mother called deputies and then began searching outside the Holiday Lakes home, officials said. They said the mother found her son in a nearby lake as deputies arrived.
The child was taken to a hospital in Angleton, where he died.
Investigators said the death has been ruled an accident and no charges will be filed.
