Chase ends with vehicle in north Harris County ditch

HOUSTON – A police chase ended Wednesday with the pursued vehicle crashing into a ditch in north Harris County.

According to Houston police, officers tried to stop a vehicle, near Interstates 10 and 45, driven by a person who had three outstanding arrest warrants.

The driver refused to stop, and authorities from several different agencies chased the vehicle. An officer used spike strips to flatten three of the tires on the vehicle as it was traveling south on Antoine Drive near Fallbrook Drive.

The driver slowed down and eventually stopped, when the vehicle crashed into a ditch near Fallbrook Drive and Highway 249.

Video from Sky 2 showed a handcuffed man standing next to a Houston police cruiser. He appeared to argue with police before he was put in the car.

Police said the driver will likely face charges of evading, felon in possession of firearm, counterfeit money and a drug charge.
