HOUSTON, Texas – A man was killed Tuesday after being hit by multiple vehicles on Southwest Freeway in southwest Houston.
Police said the man was trying to cross the road around 2 a.m. in the 6800 block of Southwest Freeway when he was hit by a grey Lexus GS. The driver stopped and turned on the car's hazard lights, police said.
A passing driver stopped to pull the man off the freeway and was almost hit by an 18-wheeler that ran over the victim.
The driver of the Lexus was given a field sobriety test. Police said there were no signs of intoxication.
The northbound lanes of IH-69 at Hillcroft were completely closed, but reopened around 5:15 a.m.
