Car dragged by 18-wheeler after driver runs red light, police say

KATY, Texas – Two men were extracted from a vehicle after the driver ran a red light and was hit by an 18-wheeler.

Officials said around 5 a.m. Tuesday a black Mercedes was eastbound on Morton Road and ran a red light. 

The Mercedes was struck by an 18-wheeler and became entangled in the back wheel of the truck and dragged for a distance. 

Fire and emergency crews extracted the two men who they said were seriously injured from the vehicle and taken by Life Flight to the hospital. 

There is no information on condition of the other driver.
