Man too distraught to stop, leads police on a chase, officials say

Houston police arrested a man who lead them on a chase early Friday morning from Westheimer to Kirkwood.

Officials said the man driving a Lexus westbound on Westheimer Road at Fondren Road was speeding and refused to stop when police attempted to pull him over. 

The chase ended at Kirkwood Drive in a parking lot where police arrested the driver for evading,  officials said. 

According to HPD, the man was not intoxicated and had no warrants or tickets. 

Police said they believe the man may have been distraught about something and did not feel like stopping when they were attempting to pull him over.
