School bus carrying track team overturns near Buffalo, Texas


BUFFALO, Texas – Several students were injured Thursday afternoon when a school bus carrying a track team overturned on I-45 near Buffalo, Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. 

The crash was reported around 3 p.m. near mile marker 164 in the southbound lanes of the highway in Leon County.

Authorities said about 30 people were aboard the Teague Independent School District bus headed to Centerville when the bus overturned while exiting onto the Highway 7 ramp.

Six children suffered minor injuries in the crash and were taken to the hospital, authorities said. One child was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan for treatment.

The exit is closed while troopers investigate the crash.
