KATY, Texas – A shelter-in-place order that was issued Wednesday for three Katy neighborhoods has been lifted.

According to the city’s Office of Emergency Management, a construction crew hit a gas line near Avenue D and Franz Road.

Officials said people in the neighborhoods of The Falls of Green Meadows, Cane Island and West Katy should stay indoors until the all-clear was given. That came about 11:30 a.m.

Repair crews were at the scene, officials said.

CenterPoint  Energy said people were evacuated from four homes in the area as a precaution.

Miler Career and Technology Center and Raines High School brought in students who were outside, according to a Katy Independent School District spokesman.
