CYPRESS, Texas – Students in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District found maggots crawling in a fruit cup on Tuesday.
Several Cy-Springs High School students posted video of the larvae trapped inside a frozen strawberry cup.
According to district officials, the cups have been pulled from the menu. The district released a statement:
"Cy-Fair nutrition services does not open the individually packaged strawberries we receive. They are served in the original packaging we receive them in and are opened by the students. Cy-Fair nutrition services will file a complaint with the USDA."
