Car pulls in front of deputy vehicle, causing collision, officials say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A deputy was involved in a collision with another vehicle Friday evening, officials said. 

According to authorities, a Harris County Precinct Six deputy was traveling north on the Eastex Freeway feeder Road with a prisoner in the back seat around 10 p.m.

A red car that had been on the Eastex Freeway exited the freeway onto the feeder road and changed lanes right in front of the deputy's vehicle, causing them to collide, officials said. 

The deputy and the prisoner were taken to the hospital in stable condition, while the three people in the red car were not injured, authorities said.
