SUNSET, Utah – A woman in Utah was apparently distracted by her puppy when she swerved into the other lane and hit a sheriff deputy’s car head-on.
Dash-cam video of the crash shows the woman’s sedan cross the center line and hit the law enforcement vehicle, KSL reported.
“I was expecting her to weave back over, out of the way,” Davis County Sheriff's Deputy Dave Passmore said. “She never did.”
The deputy told KSL the woman appeared to be holding her puppy at the time.
No one was hurt in the crash.
Passmore said, “It should have never happened. If she needed to address an issue with the dog, if she had simply pulled over and dealt with it, none of this would have happened. It was 100 percent avoidable.”
