Reward offered in 1994 Falfurrias cold case murder
AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking for the public's help in solving the 1994 murder of 20-year-old Mike DeLeon.
According to the DPS, a reward of up to $6,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible in the case if the tip is received before the next featured case next month.
The Falfurrias Fire Department responded on the morning of April 10, 1994, to a house fire on West 12th Street in Falfurrias.
After the fire was extinguished, DeLeon was found dead in the home.
DeLeon was the only person in the home at the time of the fire, and investigators believe that the fire was the result of arson.
In addition to DeLeon’s case, the DPS said the Texas Rangers’ Unsolved Homicides website provides information on more than 75 cases in an effort to increase public interest in unsolved or “cold cases.”
Anyone with information, is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477). All tips will remain anonymous.
