HOUSTON – A man is in custody and facing charges after police said he led them on a long chase through northwest Houston on Tuesday.

The chase started around 1:20 p.m. when police said they attempted to pull over a green Ford Explorer for a traffic violation at West Little York and Hollister Road.

Police said the man driving the SUV didn't stop, and also didn't have any outstanding warrants.

The chase lasted about 24 minutes and came to an end when deputies busted the tires of the Explorer near Highway 249 and Beltway 8.

At the end of the chase, the Explorer and another vehicle were involved in an accident. A person in the other vehicle was taken to the hospital for minor back injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Police said the man would at least be facing evading arrest charges.
