HOUSTON – Officials shut down Highway 290 and Binford after two 18-wheelers caught fire.
Investigators said around 11 p.m. one 18-wheeler caught fire and started leaking fuel.
Another 18-wheeler drove into the flames and also caught fire.
Both drivers were able to escape the burning trucks safely.
All westbound lanes are closed while crews clean up a mess of diesel and melted asphalt.
