3 Cy-Fair ISD schools in secure mode because of 2 suspects fleeing area

HOUSTON – Three Cy-Fair Independent School District schools are in secure mode Monday after two suspects fled in the area, officials said.

The incident was reported around 1 p.m. in the 10000 block of West Road.

Deputies said they are searching for two Hispanic men accused of stealing barbecue pit grills from a hardware store. Officials said an employee called 911 and Harris County deputies started following the truck, but the driver sped off. 

Cook Middle, Bang Elementary and Gleason Elementary schools are currently in secure mode, officials said.

Police said Lieder Elementary and Watkins Elementary were in secure mode, but the restrictions were lifted at 12:15 p.m.

Officials said they are still searching for the two men.
