Man robbed Houston Woodforest Bank, authorities say

HOUSTON – The FBI is asking for the public's help in identifying the "Construction Worker Bandit," who robbed a Woodforest Bank inside a Walmart at 13003 State Highway 249 on Tuesday.

Investigators said the man was wearing a construction vest, safety glasses, coveralls and a hard hat, but they're unsure if the outfit was real or a disguise.

Officials said the man walked into the bank at 10 a.m., approached a teller and, while yelling expletives, tried to hand a demand note to her, but the teller refused to take the note and did not give up any cash.

Investigators said the bank robber, who appeared frustrated, left the bank and was last seen being picked up by an unknown driver in a red pickup truck.

No injuries were reported and no weapon was seen, police said.

The robber is described as black, between the age of 30 and 40, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 260-280 pounds. He has a stocky build, light complexion, mustache and goatee.
