Police: Woman who died after getting arm stuck in donation bin was stealing

MOUNT CARMEL, Penn. – A woman who died after getting her arm stuck in a clothing donation bin was actually stealing items that were supposed to go to those less fortunate.

The New York Daily News reports Judith Permar's body was found Monday at a donation bin in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania.

Authorities say the 56-year-old woman died of hypothermia and trauma after breaking her arm and wrist inside the bin.

Bags of shoes and clothes were found near Permar's Hummer which was still running when her body was found.

"She was fishing bags out and the ladder she was standing on gave way and she couldn't get her hand loose," Mount Carmel police chief Brian Hollerbush told the Associated Press.

The report claims that Permer may have attempted to steal items in November. Police received calls about a woman in a black Hummer taking items from a bin.
