Police: 12-year-old Santa Fe boy stabs father to break up fight with mother


SANTA FE, Texas – A 12-year-old boy stabbed his father Monday night to stop a fight with his mother, according to police.

The stabbing happened about 9:45 p.m. in the 13100 block of 6th Street.

According to Santa Fe police, a 42-year-old man was fighting with his 47-year-old wife when their son intervened by stabbing the man with a pocket knife.

Police said the man was taken to University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.

Charges have not been filed, police said, but the case is still under investigation.

The identities of those involved are being withheld pending the outcome of the investigation, police said.
