Man dies after being shot several times during dispute with 3 men, police say

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a man was fatally shot Saturday during an argument with three men, police said.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. at 11411 Greens Plaza at an apartment complex.

Houston police said Jerome Forney, 22, and another person were confronted by three men at a strip shopping center in the 11400 block of the North Freeway service road. Police said Forney and the person left the plaza to avoid conflict, but were followed into an apartment complex.

Police said the three men who followed them started another confrontation, and one of the men pulled out a pistol and shot Forney several times. Police said the three men fled the scene.

Forney was pronounced dead at the scene. 

It is unknown why the fight started.

The person who was with Forney was not injured during the shooting.
