Man arrested, accused of vandalizing Magnolia West High School

Allegedly caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage

MAGNOLIA, Texas – A man was arrested after investigators said he caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to Magnolia West High School.

Constables with Precinct 5 said 20-year-old Darrell Lawrence broke into the school on FM 1774 around 1 a.m. Feb. 2, damaged the inside of the building and smashed several computers.

Within 18 hours of posting pictures of the vandalism and asking for the public's help, investigators said they had Lawrence in custody.

Lawrence is charged with burglary of a building and criminal mischief.

Investigators said Lawrence is also on probation in Harris County for breaking into Tomball Memorial High School.
