Missing puppy returned home after Pearland family issued plea

PEARLAND, Texas – A Pearland family is filled with joy when their puppy was returned after they reached out for the public's help in tracking down their missing pet, according to a Facebook post made by the family.

The family pup was taken Friday at 2 p.m. from its home on Harkey Road.

Surveillance video showed a woman grabbing the puppy from the residence.

Desiree Clark said she left the dog outside when she went to pick her daughter up from school. Clark said when she came back, their puppy was gone. She said the hardest part was telling her kids.

“We didn't tell them until yesterday evening, and they were upset, but it hurts me more because I know my son was really close to her,” Clark said.

She said the woman was seen driving away in a burnt orange Chevrolet HHR. Clark said she has filed a police report with the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office.

The family confirmed on Monday the dog was returned. Police said a neighbor saw KPRC2's story and noticed another neighbor had a dog similar to Clark's missing puppy and called police.

The police and Clark arrived to the neighbor's home who'd taken the pup, and she immediately returned the dog to its rightful owner.

No arrest or charges were filed against the woman.
