HOUSTON – Deputies are investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old dead, and a 19-year-old in the hospital.
Deputies were called to the scene of a shooting on the 25000 block Lantern Lane near FM 1485 in New Caney by the 19-year-old victim around 3 a.m.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found a 20-year-old lying dead in the street from a gunshot wound. The 19-year-old was wounded, according to authorities.
The 19-year-old was taken to the Conroe Regional Medical center with life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
Deputies believe narcotics might have played a role in the shooting.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.
