Intoxicated man runs from deputies, is stunned by Taser

Troy Gately, 46, charged with interfering with public servant.


HOUSTON – A man was arrested after he ran from deputies and resisted arrest.

Deputies said they responded to the intersection of East Carolina Green Drive and Orange Bloom Court after receiving calls about a man passed out on the side of the road.

When deputies arrived and spotted the man, identified as Troy Gately, 46, he woke up and began running from them.

Deputies said they caught Gately, but he physically resisted arrested and ignored verbal commands, so a Taser was deployed.

Gately was struck in the chest area, which allowed deputies to detain him.

Gately was not injured in the incident.

He was arrested and charged with interfering with a public servant. He was booked into the Harris County Jail with a bond of $5,000.
