Owner shoots, kills armed man inside store, police say


HOUSTON – An owner of a store shot and killed an armed man Tuesday in northeast Houston, police said.

The incident was reported at 4:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Collingsworth Street.

Police said an armed man entered the Bodega North store and threatened the store owner. Police said the owner grabbed his own gun and shot the suspect several times.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not released the suspect’s identity.
