Police checking if suspects' vehicle was taken in carjacking

HOUSTON – One man is recovering after police say several men shot him during an attempted robbery in southwest Houston.

Houston police said the incident happened just after midnight Wednesday on the 6300 block of Dumfries Drive, east of Fondren Road.

Police said a man was walking home from work when several men in a red vehicle approached him and tried to rob him. The men shot him several times before leaving.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Police say the suspects' vehicle may have been stolen in a carjacking on the north side of U.S. 59 earlier.
