HOUSTON – Police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found behind a home who appeared to have been shot, officers said Tuesday.
The woman’s body was discovered about 2:55 p.m. Saturday at 6300 Sherwood Drive, according to a news release from the Houston Police Department.

Forensics officials in Harris County are still working to determine the victim’s name and her cause of death.
Homicide investigators said they found the woman’s body “in an advanced state of decomposition.”
