HOUSTON – James Harden of the Houston Rockets has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season.

The NBA gave Harden the honors for the week of Monday, Dec. 26, through Sunday, Jan. 1.

Harden averaged 37.3 points and 12.5 assists per game during that week, while leading the Rockets to a 4-0 record.

One of those victories came on New Year's Eve, when Harden scored a career-high 53 points against the New York Knicks.

This is the 12th time Harden has won the conference Player of the Week award. He is now tied with Hakeem Olajuwon for most Player of the Week awards in franchise history.
