Woman asks for public's help in finding man who stole purse at Creamistry in Galleria area

HOUSTON – A Houston woman shared surveillance video Friday in hopes that KPRC2 viewers will recognize the man who stole her purse at an ice cream parlor in the Galleria area.

"It was broad daylight," Heidi Tso said.

"All of a sudden I see a hand towards my purse," Tso continued.

The theft occurred on Monday at a dessert bar called Creamistry, located in the 5000 block of Westheimer Road, according to Tso.

Tso said she was seated outside when a man walked by and noticed her purse.

"By the time I look over, he's already got my purse and he's off running," Tso said. She tried to run after the man, but missed him and he took off in a getaway car, Tso said.

"There were several people who checked in and saw if I was okay. There was a couple that actually got the car make, model and license plate," Tso said.

Tso described the car as a red or burgundy Chevrolet Impala, with Texas license plate FTK 9390.

Houston police are investigating the theft.

Tso said she spoke out on the matter to protect others from going through what she experienced.

"I really don't want my things back. All had pretty much been replaced at this point but I want to make sure him and his accomplices don't do anything like this again to someone else," she said.
