Resident not hurt after Porter house fire

Resident attempted to fight blaze with garden hose, authorities say

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A resident was not hurt after a house fire in Porter.

The Montgomery County fire officials said Porter firefighters were dispatched before 5 p.m. Friday to a reported explosion and house fire with a victim trapped.

The firefighters arrived at Wisp Willow Way and Honeysuckle Drive to find a home fully in flames, fire officials said. The resident escaped with no injuries.

Firefighters said the resident attempted to fight the blaze with a garden hose. The East Montgomery County Fire Department and Caney Creek Fire & Rescue helped in fighting the fire.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire, authorities said.
