HOUSTON – A man was found Monday morning shot several times inside a car that was parked on a west Houston street.

The shooting was reported about 5:15 a.m. on Hunton Drive, near the intersection of Westpark Drive and West Sam Houston Parkway.

Houston police spokesman Todd Tyler said that several shell casings were found outside the car, but detectives are still trying to determine if the shooter was ever inside the car.

The victim, who was identified as 36-year-old Darlington Igweh, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, Tyler said.

Tyler said there are several surveillance cameras in the area.
