Man arrested on several charges after foot chase with police


ROSENBERG, Texas – A man was arrested Friday after leading police on a short foot chase on Westwood Drive and is now facing several charges.

Rosenberg police officers attempted to stop 20-year-old Mar'Phillip White around 8:45 p.m. Friday.

White exited the vehicle then tried to flee on foot, according to police.

Officers chased him down and placed him in custody on suspicion of evading arrest.

After investigating further, officers found he was in possession of a stolen vehicle and a handgun.

Police said White is now facing charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of marijuana, and failure to provide identification, along with other warrants.

The stolen vehicle was secured as evidence and will be released to Walker County.
