Police seek man accused of hitting woman in head with hammer


HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for a man accused of attacking a woman with a hammer in southeast Houston.

On Nov. 2, a woman was walking around her neighborhood in the 8800 block of Vesper Street when the man drove up behind her, according to investigators.

Police said the man jumped out of his car and hit the woman in the head with a hammer several times.

When the man tried to drag the woman back to his car, the woman was able to fight back, spray mace in the man’s face and escape.

The man was described as Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old, 160 to 170 pounds and between 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with dark, crew cut hair.

The man’s vehicle was described as a late 90s to early 2000s blue, two-door, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, with a small red-and-white-striped sticker on the driver’s side door or windshield.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging or arrest of this man.
