HOUSTON – A 28-year-old man is accused of leaving three children alone at an apartment on Dec. 15 while he led police on a 30-minute chase in Katy.
Around 4:40 p.m., Brian Kelly was clocked going 96 mph in a 65 mph speed zone on I-10, according to police. He was on a motorcycle.
When officers tried to stop him, Kelly led them on a chase, according to reports. The chase ended at Kelly's apartment complex at 200 Westborough Drive around 5:10 p.m.
When officers put Kelly in custody, they said they found three young children inside the apartment. The children were left unsupervised by Kelly before the chase began, police said.
The children were 10, 7 and 2 years old.
Kelly told police that when he left the children, they were asleep.
The mother of the children was at work at the time of the incident. She said she was not aware that Kelly left the children unsupervised, according to court documents.
