Reward offered for information in deadly hit-and-run on East Loop
HPD searches for hit-and-run driver
HOUSTON – A reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and charges in the death of motorcyclist from Fort Bend County.
Michael Hayn, 29, was killed Nov. 20 after he was struck by a car whose driver did not stop after the collision, authorities said.
Houston police investigators said Hayn and a group of friends were riding their motorcycles when they pulled over on the left northbound shoulder of I-610 near Gellhorn in east Houston to check one of the bikes for engine trouble.
A burgundy car crossed onto the shoulder, hit Hayn and kept going, police said. The impact threw Hayn across the median into the southbound lanes, where he was pronounced dead.
Hayne left behind a 2-year-old son.
Police are looking for a 2010-2012 burgundy Honda Accord.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call 713-222-TIPS (8477).
