Mother beats 12-year-old child with printer cord for eating, police said

A mother beat her 12-year-old child with a printer cord after he ate a snack cake in west Houston, according to police.

On Nov. 6, Amanda Eastman and her son were fasting for church when her son snuck into the kitchen to get a snack because he was hungry, police said.

According to officials, Eastman caught the 12-year-old in the kitchen snacking and beat him with a printer cord at their apartment on 9449 Briar Forest Drive.


The beating caused the child to have many bruises, welts and a deep cut on the boy's back, police said.

Eastman has a $10,000 bond and is set to appear in court Thursday, according to court documents.
