(WCMH) – A man accused of assaulting a Cincinnati police officer made his first appearance in court Friday morning.

Steven Tyler Manning, 30, is charged with burglary, assault and resisting arrest, WLWT reports.
Manning is accused of kicking down an apartment door, then punching a woman and biting a man who came to help her.
While attempting to take Manning into custody, police said he struggled with the arresting officer and the two smashed through a window.
The officer suffered a laceration on his forehead that required 12 stitches.
Manning was ordered held on $350,000 bond.
