Family of 3 escapes burning home in Magnolia

Cause of fire under investigation

WOODLANDS – A family of three escaped its burning home in Montgomery County on Monday morning.

Fire officials said firefighters found a home on McDaniel Drive near FM 1488 in Magnolia in flames around midnight.

The family reportedly rushed out of the home after hearing a smoke detector.

Firefighters from Tomball, Lake Conroe, Caney Creek, Needham and The Woodlands also responded to the intense flames.

Crews were able contain the blaze to the attic, which suffered extensive damage, according to officials.

Firefighters were reportedly able to save the majority of the family’s belongings, which suffered smoke and water damage.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office will be investigating the cause of the fire.
