Woman grateful after HPD officers offer ride home after accident

HOUSTON – Houston police officers were thanked after they helped a woman get home safely after a car accident.

Shenna Williams, 57, was getting a ride home from the airport when a driver ran a stop sign and slammed into the back of her friend's car.

Two Houston Police Department officers arrived to the scene and made sure everyone was OK, and then offered to drive Williams home.

They even loaded her luggage in the patrol car.

Williams says she is still shocked at the officers' generosity.

"I didn't even know they would do that. They asked me if I needed a ride and they got my bags, and I felt like I had HPD as Uber," she said.

Williams also said she hopes to get those officers' names so she can tell them how grateful she is in person.
