Driver on the run after police chase ends in crash in north Houston, police say

HOUSTON – A driver escaped from police Wednesday morning after he crashed into a plaza during a police chase in north Houston, police said

Several men stole a woman's pickup truck about 4:30 a.m. near Airline drive, police said.

Police said when they arrived to the scene, another officer saw the pickup truck driving south on Airline with a red Chrysler car following behind. Police were able to get the pickup truck to stop and arrest the two men inside.

Police said the Chrysler kept going, and that’s when the police chase began until the driver crashed at Green Plaza. Police said there were three men inside, but only two were arrested.

The driver ran through an apartment complex and got away, police said.
