2 in custody after theft spree, police chase, sources say

HOUSTON – An adult and a juvenile are in custody after a theft spree led to a police chase in a stolen vehicle on Wednesday, according to reports.

The duo stole beer from a convenience store and then stole merchandise from a nearby Academy, according to reports.

They backed into an innocent bystander's car in the parking lot of Academy, according to reports.

When they were spotted by police, the pursuit ensued, police said.

The pair was taken into custody after police stopped them in a shopping center parking lot on the East Freeway near Market Street.

Police said the vehicle was stolen in east Houston on Tuesday.

The juvenile is facing two felony charges of aggressive assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest. The juvenile was driving the car and had a loaded BB gun in his waistband.

The adult, who was the passenger in the vehicle, is facing criminal trespassing and evading on foot charges.
