Child in stroller struck by vehicle in SW Houston, report says

HOUSTON – A 1-year-old child, being pushed in a stroller, was struck by a vehicle in southwest Houston on Tuesday afternoon, according to Houston police.

The driver stopped at the scene near 6655 Hillcroft Avenue around 2 p.m., police said. Police also said they do not believe the driver was speeding.

The mother was not crossing the street at a crosswalk, according to police.

The child was taken to the hospital with severe injuries, but the mother was not injured.
