18-wheeler, SUV involved in deadly Houston crash
Driver of Chevrolet Trailblazer died at scene
HOUSTON – The driver of a tractor-trailer didn’t yield to traffic as he left the driveway of a business early Tuesday morning, and he was hit by a Chevrolet Trailblazer -- which killed the SUV driver, police said.
About 4:45 a.m., the tractor-trailer driver turned west onto Clinton Drive, and failed to yield the right of way near a stop sign, according to a news release from the Houston Police Department. The tractor-trailer was hit by the Trailblazer, which was heading east on Clinton Drive -- in the 100 block -- at the time.
The Chevy driver died before he could be taken to a hospital. Officials haven’t released his age or name.
The driver of the 18-wheeler showed no signs of impairment, police said. He remained at the crash scene as officers investigated.
The driver doesn’t face any charges at this time.
