Couple uses fake money to purchase nearly $2K worth of items, officials say

A man and a woman purchase electronics, automotive and hardware items using counterfeit bills, according to the Montgomery County sheriff deputy’s office.

The couple went on a shopping spree at the Walmart located at 10001 Woodlands Parkway on Sept. 21 at 8:10 p.m., according to deputies.

The couple walked around the store picking out items from the electronic, hardware and automotive section amounting to $1,774.04, deputies said.

The couple paid and walked out the store driving away in a maroon sedan.

Deputies said the couple then returned to the same Walmart as well as a Harris County Walmart the next day at 7:28 a.m. and returned several items, which totaled to $1,152.73 cash back.
