Police: 2 men arrested, 1 on the run after robbing Family Dollar

Harris County sheriff deputies arrested two men of the three men who robbed a Family Dollar, according to deputies.

Deputies arrested Derrick Dewayne South, 17, and Reginald Simmons, 17, after the two men and a friend walked into a Family Dollar at 13700 Kuykendahl Road at 9:15 p.m. on Oct. 11 wearing bandannas.

The men, armed with pistols, demanded cash and fled the store on foot, according to authorities.

Shortly after the robbery, the men were seen walking down the 2300 block of Bammelwood Drive, deputies said.

When deputies caught up to the three men, they ran into the Bammel Village subdivision and hid, according to officials.

Deputies then set up a perimeter around the neighborhood and found South and Simmons hiding near a water processing plant in the area, officials said.

Deputies also found two sets of clothes matching the description of what the accused robbers were wearing, as well as a 9-millimeter handgun and a wad of cash, according to authorities.

The third man was never caught, according to officials.
