Man held siblings at gunpoint on way home from school, deputies say
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man and his 9-year-old brother were held at gunpoint Thursday afternoon in north Harris County, authorities said.
Harris County deputy constables said the older sibling, 20, was walking his brother home from school in the 6400 block of Barrygate when an armed man got out of a parked vehicle, pointed the gun at the brothers and threatened them.
An altercation ensued and the suspect hit the older brother in the face, deputies said. The younger brother ran home and was not injured.
Police identified the suspect as 33-year-old Damien Brown.
Although his motive is unknown, police said Brown knew the older brother from a previous disturbance.
Brown was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He is being held without bond at the Harris County Jail.
