HOUSTON – A new ride-sharing app is coming to Houston just in time for the holiday season.
The app, which was approved by City Council Wednesday, would pit local taxi and limo drivers against the Uber app.

The app, called Arro, would allow you to hail a cab from your smartphone.
It works like Uber, but your ride comes in the form of a licensed taxi driver.
Drivers are expected to start using the app in November.
