HOUSTON – One person was hit by a vehicle and killed Friday in north Houston.
The crash that closed all southbound lanes of the freeway was reported around 6:10 a.m. in the 6000 block of I-45 North Freeway.
Houston police said a man in his 50s, whose identity is not yet being released, was trying to cross the freeway when he was hit by at least four vehicles. According to police, the drivers of a black Mazda RX8, a red Toyota Tundra, a brown Chevrolet Malibu and a black Ford Mustang, who all hit the victim, stopped to hep.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash was cleared and lanes were reopened just before 9:30 a.m.
The Houston Police Department continues its investigation.
