9 students injured in Dayton ISD school bus crash

DAYTON, Texas – Nine students were hospitalized after a school bus and a car collided Thursday on Highway 146 south near FM-1413 in Dayton, according to the Dayton Independent School District.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The nine students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, the district said.

Dayton ISD released a statement after the crash that read:

"A Dayton ISD bus was involved in an accident this morning in front of Dayton High School. EMS is on the scene and is checking on all students involved. Nine students were transferred by ambulance to be checked on as a precaution for minor injuries. Parents of the students on the bus are being contacted. DISD nurses will continue to monitor and check on the students throughout the day. As always, the safety of our children is one of our highest priorities."
