Houston sex offender on Texas most wanted list

Charles Simpson has been added to the 10 most wanted sex offender list, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.

In 1990, Simpson was convicted in Harris County of sexually assaulting a 35-year-old woman, according to DPS.

In 1993, Simpson was convicted of delivery of cocaine and received a 25-year prison sentence, according to DPS.

A press release said Simpson was released on parole in 2006 from Texas Department of Criminal Justice and was required to register as a sex offender for life.

Simpson failed to register as a sex offender, and in 2012, Simpson was convicted in Harris County.

In 2016, a parole warrant for Simpson’s arrest and a warrant for failing to comply as a sex offender was issued by the Texas Board of Pardons and Harris County, according to a press release.

According to DPS, Simpson, 48, is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds. He has tattoos on his hands, arms and chest, and may be wearing earrings.

Simpson’s last known address was in Houston and Missouri city, officials said.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers $3,000 to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.
